Colorful Sunflowers

   I love to brighten our front porch with seasonal flowers from our garden.  I picked these bright Sunflowers today, and arranged them in a simple green floral bowl.  They compliment the bright sunny days, we've been having, and make me smile.

Spring Snow in Kentucky

Snow Covered Fragrant Flowering Viburnum

   We like most everyone else were enjoying the nice Spring weather, until a blast of Winter returned last week.  
   This morning we awoke to a beautiful Spring snow, that blanketed the ground and everything in it's path.  
   Our Fragrant Flowering Viburnum had begun to bloom and it was such a welcomed site.  It's delicate and fragrant flowers are now snow covered, but still beautiful.

Varigated Bougainvillea



Bougainvillea

   This time of year, I always start to think about the flowers and plants, I want to grow come Spring.  I love flowers, and Herbs of all kinds.  This Varigated Bougainvillea is one of my favorites. 
   I had this plant a few years; I wintered it in the garage every year, it did well.  When my plants grew too big, to keep them all thru the winter, I gave some of them away. 
   Since then, I've had a hard time finding another Varigated Bougainvillea.  Most of the nurseries around here, only have the regular Bougainvillea.
   I would like to try some new flowers this Spring, and of course some old favorites.

Spring Wildflowers



Wildflowers on a Hillside in Jackson County, Kentucky 

    We took this picture a few years ago on my brother's farm in Jackson County, Ky.  
   It had been many years since this land had been farmed, so when my brother bought it; it had a lot of big timber and undergrowth.  
   We drove up to see it that April, and were surprised at all the wildflowers we saw there, the most we'd seen anywhere.  It was a beautiful site. 
   Lying undisturbed for many years, the remnants of a chimney, and foundation rocks was all that remained of the old homeplace.  God's beauty is everywhere!  We just need to look for it.
                                                                                                      

The Two Prettiest Flowers in the Garden

   Two very precious ladies, my Mother-in-law and Mammo Cloud stand among the beautiful flowers in mammo's flower garden.  They did everything together for as long as I can remember.  They picked wild greens, and strawberries, and shared a love for gardening and preserving food.  They milked the cows, churned butter and made buttermilk.  They loved God, beautiful flowers, family, friends, and one another.  They have gone on before us, and I know they walk among flowers so pretty, that one cannot even imagine.
