Friends New and Old

Friends Welcome Here
Sometimes when paths cross,
a friendship is formed that lasts forever.
God Bless You, KS from Bell County, Ky.
And, if God permits, we will meet again.

And remember, you have a friend not so far away,
who will lift up your name in prayer.
Friends are worth more, than silver or gold,
err they be, new or old.

A Welcome Wreath Hangs at Our Front Door,
Come See Us When You Can.

Have a wonderful Holiday Season.
Blessings, Trisha

A Friendship that Stands the Test of Time

Trisha and Brenda

This is a picture of me, and one of my best friends, Brenda, taken more than a half century ago.  I uploaded it from a class picture Brenda emailed me.
I was shy, and she was outgoing, a great combination!  We played tag, jump rope and tug of war.  School was so much fun, I don't know how we learned anything.
I stayed in Kentucky, and she traveled around the country, living in California, down South, and now in Nebraska.
Though miles have always separated us, our friendship has remained.
I thank God for our Friendship

My Friend Bertie Mae Grew Up in Leslie County

Bertie Mae

This is my friend Bertie Mae, she grew up in Leslie County, KY.  Everyone called her grandmother and grandfather:  Mammie and Big Daddy.  Well Mammie and Big Daddy had a big family and most of them lived with them in their big farm house, including Bertie Mae, her family, and other aunts and uncles and their families.
Bertie Mae told me about one time when she was just a child that they all went to church one Sunday and when they came home they found Mammie out in the front yard rocking in her rocking chair, and the house was on fire. As Mammie sat there and rocked, she said, "Well Children, the house is burning down." After that Mammie and Big Daddy bought a farm in a nearby county.  The only family that made the move with them was Bertie Mae and her family.  I loved to hear the stories about Mammie and Big Daddy.  I hope you enjoyed it too.  Many Blessings.

A Gift From a Friend, that Reminds us of the Gift From a True Friend.

We received this lighted praying hands sculpture as a gift from a very special friend.  Each time we look at it we are reminded that the One we pray to, is our True Friend.  He gave His life for our sins, He gave us grace for our condemed souls, and mercy for our shortcomings.
His name is Jesus Christ.  He is our Lord, Our Saviour, Our True Friend.
If we love Him, we will live for Him, if we are a friend to Him, we will praise Him.  And in the end we will see Him for ourselves and not another.  He is the Light of the World.
