Yard Sale Gypsies

Yard Sale Gypsies Tote Bag

God has been so good to us, and we thank Him.
We had a good Christmas, and spent
time with our daughter after Christmas.
We enjoyed it so much.
Look what a cute tote bag she made for us.
She knew we liked to run the big yard sales,
like the 127 Sale, the 68 Sale,
the Hwy. 25 Sale, the Rollercoaster Sale, and
local sales, too, and that we call ourselves
  'Yard Sale Gypsies.'
Our daughter thought it was cute,
and made this tote bag to carry our snacks in.
We hope to put it to good use this summer.
Have a Blessed New Year, Trisha

2nd. Annual US 25 Yard Sale

2nd.  Annual US 25 Yard Sale
A new yard sale route to run, or to set up on, is coming up, June 6th. thru 8th.  I usually have to drive a hundred miles or more to run one of these big yard sales.

Not this time, this one is within 2 mile of my home.  They had this sale last year in August , but, it wasn't highly advertised, so there wasn't a lot of local participation.  This year looks to be different.  I'm seeing more local tourism groups getting involved trying to get the event advertised.

The Sale will run thru Kentucky along US Hwy.  25.
For more information, search Google, or on Facebook search - 'US 25 Yard Sale'

I am posting this early to give you something to think about.  If you don't have other plans, check it out.  I hope to, weather permitting and Lord willing, Trisha

Snow Drops

Snow Drops
This morning I listened to a local radio program called Tri-County Spotlite.  It is a buy, sale, trade, or give away program.  I love to listen to the show, not only because of the good buys that come on from time to time, but, because I know so many of the callers.
You never know what is going to be advertised, goats, chickens, hogs, homemade quilts, honey, homemade butter, fresh eggs, or just about anything else you might think of.
This morning one of the regular callers called in to advertise her quilt tops; this lady has a long Southern Draw with a Cincinnati Slang, and in her very distinguishing voice, she told the host that she saw some Snow Drops outside before she called in.  It was snowing here, and I took a picture of what should be Snow Flakes, but, sure enough they looked a lot like Snow Drops to me, too.

   Think it's time,' I get a life?'

A Big Day in the Life of a Junker

Well, we did it.  We've talked about opening  a booth at the Vendors Mall for years.           Today, we opened one.
Booth 605 at Corbin Vendors Mall
We made two trips up there today
to get it set up,  and still didn't get
to take everything.  We'll have to
go back again tomorrow.
Seems like a lot of work for two
old people like us, but, it was fun.
It was dark when we came out of
the Mall.   Being out after dark is
 unusual for us.
This has been a big day for us.
Hope you've had a big day today,
as well.  Have a Blessed day
wherever you are.

Blessings, Trisha

If you are ever at Corbin, stop by for a visit.

Stanford Ky. City Wide Yard Sale

Stanford Kentucky's city wide yard sale starts Friday, Sept. 2nd.,
and runs thru Sat., Sept 3rd.
The Hwy.  80 yard sale at London,  started today,
and runs thru the weekend.
The Jackson Subdivision yard sale in Williamsburg, starts Sat.,
and runs thru Mon.
There are at least two Estate Sales as well.
We hope to go, and find lots of interesting things.
We really love yard sales, antique shops, and vendors malls.
It is supposed to be really hot this weekend,
so our trips, if we go, will probably short ones.
Hope you have a great holiday weekend, however you spend it.

Blessings, Trisha

400 Mile Yard Sale Finds of 2011

Lots of Pretty Tea Cups

Gold glass
Just a few of the things we found on our trip.   We went on the 400 mile yard sale trip on Saturday.  It was a beautiful day, and we were Blessed to get to spend the day with our daughter.  We bought way too much as usual.  When we got home, I unloaded most of the glassware into my garden cart in the garage, until I can find somewhere to put it.  We met some of the nicest people and found some great buys.     We found some pink depression glass bowls that are not shown, and so many beautiful pieces; I was like a kid in a candy store.

Vintage Jewelry Find

I found some pretty vintage jewelry, an old standing, thread spool caddy, some nice clocks, and many other things.  We bought so many things that we had to have our son-in-law bring another vehicle and switch with us, because we were loaded so heavy.  Our daughter found lots of things to use for the ladies day celebrations, and children's programs at her church.
God Blessed us with time together, great finds, and beautiful weather; and we thank Him.  Blessings to you, wherever you are.

400 Mile Yard Sale, out Hwy. 68

Doesn't seem to matter if we have room for anything else or not, when it comes to the big sales; they're really hard to pass up.  So, we hope to head out early in the morning on our treasure hunt up Hwy.  68 through Kentucky.
The sales start in Western Kentucky, and goes Northward to Maysville.  We find lots of vintage items, and antiques, on this sale, every year.
We especially like one very old Antique Shoppe in Old Washington;  it is ran by a really nice elderly man.  Most of the Shops in Old Washington will be participating in the 68 Yard Sale event.
Whether we find treasures or not, just spending the day with our daughter, and doing something we love, will be Blessing enough.
Have a Blessed day wherever you are.

Getting Ready for a Garage Sale

Amber and Gold Vintage Glass

We have been busy trying to get ready for a garage sale.  We have accumulated so much stuff, we will need to have it two days.  This stuff will have to sit on my kitchen table all week until we have the sale, this weekend.  I would take it to the garage, but, it is full too.

Red, Gold, Green, and Blue Vintage Glass
Where does it all come from?
I think someone is a pack rat.
At least that is what my husband would say.
Oh well, guilty as charged, I guess.
Have a BLESSED day.

Another Blessed Day!

      World's Longest Yard Sale Treasures

We had a great day; talked to a lot of really nice
people, had great weather, good company and some really nice finds.
Here is some of what we found:  A nice old sewing box, A vintage blue cast iron skillet, an old galvanized aluminum kettle, a 1 &1/2 gal. old brown crock, a red and gold carnival glass pedestal bowl and an old brown crock pickle jar.
God has richly blessed us and we are so thankful.
We also found a lot of ribbon and craft supplies for our daughter. Some nice material for aprons and bonnets, Blue & White Churchill dishes, and other misc. items.

World's Longest Yard Sale this weekend.

We are setting out on a Treasure Hunt this weekend.
The world's longest yard sale is going on, on Hwy 127.
We always meet a lot of nice people and see lots of pretty things.
I plan to look for old aprons,  doiles, old dishes, tea pots,
old jewelry and glass and I hope to share a lot of smiles.
The  weather has cooled some, I am thankful for that.
We don't plan to go as far this year or spend as much, but,
we do plan to have a good time and be thankful
for another day that God has given us.
