| Kentucky Family of Seven, minus the Oldest Brother |
This is a picture of my brothers and sisters taken in the 1940's, in the hills of Eastern Kentucky. At that time there were seven in our family besides, mom and dad, my oldest brother is not pictured. About five years later, I came along, then three years later, my baby sister. Families were much larger then. Life was simpler, but sometimes hard. Family was important back then; aunts, uncles, and cousins were visited often.
Seems like a different lifetime, things have changed so much. All of our aunts, and uncles have gone on, leaving only memories of the lives they'd lived.
We have Hope to see them all again. That Hope is Jesus Christ. Blessings,

How true! I grew up with 8 brothers and 2 sisters. A small house and only 1 bathroom. I can actually remember not having an inside bathroom. It seemed we were always clean, well-feed and taken care of. My how times have become so complicated. Again, thanks for the wonderful memories.

ReplyDeleteLife is so different now. Families are not as close as they once were and it's sad. Life might have been harder as far as you had to work for everything you got, but honestly it seemed people appreciated things a lot more and were over all happier...that's just my thoughts:)
