The Prayer of a Child

After Christmas dinner yesterday,
two year old Jeremiah asked
for another cookie; and was told by
his mother to ask a Blessing over his cookie,
Jeremiah bowed his little head and said,
" Thank you Jesus, cookie eat."
Such a simple little prayer, yet so touching,
because it came from the heart of a child.
Have a Blessed day,
Trisha

Peppermint Fudge, Looks are Deceiving

Peppermint Fudge, Looks Good, Doesn't It?

   For a couple of months,
I've been seeing posts on Pinterest, and other recipe sites raving about peppermint fudge.

I thought I would try some today.  I used my favorite fudge recipe
 and added chipped peppermint candy.
A big mistake.

My usual fudge is smooth, creamy, and delicious; but, this my friends tastes like it was made with chalk, or wallpaper paste.

My husband tried a piece, and when he took a bite, a peppermint chip stuck in his tongue, and he said his first thought was, well, I bit it, and it bit me back.

I also tried Egg Nog Cake,  it actually tasted good, but, was a little heavy.  The next time I make it, I won't put egg nog in the batter, but, will mix it into the frosting.  I hope your holiday recipes are turning out better than mine.
Just a little FYI, because looks are deceiving.

Blessings. Trisha

Don't Let the Hours of Christmas, Pass
a Christmas poem by:  Pat Goodin
Don't Let the Hours of Christmas, Pass
Don't let the hours of Christmas pass,
'till you've given your heart to Christ, at last
We've never been promised another Christmas day,
not even a moment; they can all fleet away.
We sing the carols of Christmas now,
with hearts of joy, and lifted brow.
But, of Whom we sing, some don't consider,
the fire in hell is real, and Heaven's gates do glitter.
Jesus Christ, is your Christmas gift,
from God's throne, He was sent.
Say one prayer this Christmas day, and
Don't let the hours of Christmas pass away.
Let's praise the Lord while we can!!!  For He is worthy!!!
Have a Blessed and Holy season, Trisha

Tobacco Stick Sled

Tobacco Stick Sled

We went to a flea market in a nearby town today and found some interesting things.  This is a sled made out of old tobacco sticks.  We also found a very large ladder rack twined with grapevines, and a smaller ladder rack made from tobacco sticks.  I think I will try to make some of these a little later.
We found a lot of old stuff, railroad buckets, porcelain, vintage salves in tins, and jars with great labels, and lots more.  Will try to share some of that with you next time.

Hope everyone is enjoying this Blessed Holy season.

Vintage Linen from the 1930's

Vintage Linen

I found this lot of vintage linen at the local flea market last month.  Some of it is really old, and I first thought it was Civil War Era, but, after further checking I realized that most of it was from the 1930's and beyond.

1930's Vintage Linen

There's just something about old linen that draws me.  When I'm starching and ironing it,  I feel like a little girl playing with paper dolls.
I know I'm not alone in my love for linen, because it doesn't last long in my booth.  Seems like it flies off the shelves.

Have a Blessed day, Trisha
