Bountiful Blessings

I found this felt poster at Goodwill a couple of weeks ago.  It really made my day.  It is one of my favorite writings.  I've had it posted on my blog from the start, but, never expected to find it in print.  God is good, He has given me another one of the desires of my heart.

Fall Bouquet from my Garden

Bountiful Blessings, is my prayer for you,
Trisha

Clear blue skies, crisp autumn air, flowers from my garden, and a bountiful Fall Harvest, whispers God's love in such a special way.

Oh How I Love Jesus

            A beautiful Fall day,
time spent with family and friends,
   Blessed by God's mighty hand.
A song is rising in my heart,
          'Oh how I love Jesus'
           and yes, indeed I do.
       May God's love surround,
             and Bless you, too.

Please Pray for Israel

Please pray for Israel.
Our world is in turmoil as many countries are
massing in the Persian Gulf with ships, subs and
minesweeping exercises, all the while, Iran continues
to make threats against Israel.
Now is the time for us to pray, pray for the peace of Israel,
and guideance from God.
Blessings,
Trisha

Blessed with 'Abou Ben Adhem'

One of My Favorite Poems

Famous Poems Published 1958
One of my favorite poems in grade school was 'Abou Ben Adhem' it was written by James Henry Leigh Hunt b. 1784 -  d. 1859.  I was in the fourth grade and did not remember the author.
I have been looking for this poem for most of my adult life.  I have looked on the internet countless times and looked in every old poetry book I came across.
Yesterday I bought several old books to take to the booth.  I picked this one up today to polish the cover, and the thought came to me to check it for 'Abou Ben Adhem'   I then thought, no way but, I checked the index and it was the first poem listed.  I was so happy, I almost squealled.  My husband was happy too, because he knew I had looked for it a long time.  He said, "God gives us the desires of our hearts."
He sure does, and I thank Him.
Since the pictures are not plain enough to read, I am writing the words below:

Abou Ben Adhem
Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight in his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,
An Angel writing in a book of gold:
Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,
And to the Presence in the room he said,
"What writest thou?"  The Vision raised it's head,
And with a look made of all sweet accord
Answered, "The names of those who love the Lord."
"And is mine one?" said Abou.  "Nay, not so,"
Replied the Angel.  Abou spoke more low,
But cherrly still; and said, "I pray thee, then,
Write me as one that loves his fellow-men."
The Angel wrote, and vanished.  The next night
It came again with a great wakening light,
And showed the names whom love of God had blessed,
And, lo!  Ben Adhem's name led all the rest!

Vintage Flour Sack Dish Towels

Vintage Flour Sack Dish Towels

I love these vintage 'Days of Week' flour sack dish towels.  They are hand embroidered, with kittens doing daily chores.
These didn't find their way to the booth, they took residence in a spare bedroom.

Busy Little Kitty

I love anything made from flour sacks, reminds me of childhood, when material wasn't wasted, flour sacks, feed sacks, and even tiny tobacco sacks were used for something.  The feed sacks were the most colorful and were used to make dresses and aprons.  Seems like another lifetime ago, my how things change.  Guess my mom felt the same way,
since she told of plowing with oxen and
being startled when she saw her first car.

God Bless You, wherever you are,
Trisha

Weekends and Old Rusty Stuff

Old Rusty Stuff

We found these old tins over the weekend.  I call things like this old rusty stuff.  I have a good friend that goes antiquing with us some and she says I'm never any competetion to her because I am always looking for old rusty stuff.  She looks for girly stuff.  I buy those as well, but, I love the old rusty stuff just as much.

And Girly Stuff

We added a few girly things to our booth today as well as old rusty stuff.  Blessings to all and hope you are enjoying as beautiful weather as we are.

Blessings,
Trisha

Please pray for Israel.

From the Pumpkin Patch

From the Pumpkin Patch to the Table

Fall and crafting just seem to go together.  Today I made pumpkins and squash to put in
the booth.  It has been a very rainy day and a good one to do some sewing.
I made the pumpkins and squash out of velvet, sticks, and embellishments.  I don't usually put a lot of crafts in the booth, but, felt like I needed to add something for Fall.
Hope you are having a Blessed day, wherever you are.
