When You Can't Stand Anymore...

I wanted to share something I read the other day:

'When you can't stand anymore, try kneeling.'

The reason this is so great is, it works.

Happy New Year and Blessings to everyone!  Trisha

A Quote for a New Year

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas,  we sure did.
I read this today, and wanted to pass it on, I don't know who wrote it,
but, it is a good quote for a New Year.

To loose your wealth is much
To loose your health is more.
To loose your soul is such a loss,
that nothing can restore.

Have a Blessed week, Trisha

Sunday Morning Sabbath at Ryan's Creek Baptist Church

Ryan's Creek Baptist Church
This warm December, Sunday morning Sabbath worship service at Ryan's Creek Baptist Church was brightened by the songs of Zion, and the preaching of Pastor Herbert Wells.
Even the blue of the sky seemed to speak of God's glory.
Christmas 2011 is near upon us, and the little church was alive with children from the mountain homes around the church.
It is such a blessing to hear their small voices.  The church has mostly older members, whose children, and grandchildren have moved away and attend other churches.  But, today some came for worship, and a special time of Christmas fellowship, following the worship service.  God is good, and His mercies endureth forever.

Hope you had a wonderful Sunday Sabbath,
wherever you are.
Blessings, Trisha

I read a verse from a Christmas card a few years ago,
that kind of stuck with me, here it is:

I heard a bird sing, in the dark of December
Twas a beautiful thing, so sweet to remember.

Such simple words, sometimes can say so much, but, like the song says:
'the sweetest word I ever heard, was I forgive'
Have a great day!

A Christmas Poem

Photo from a Vintage Christmas Card
the Angel Announcing
the First Christmas Gift,
Jesus Christ.
A Christmas Poem, I've written for you:

'Don't Let the Hours of Christmas, Pass Away'

Let not the hours of Christmas pass,
'til we've given our hearts to Christ
'cause there's no promise of another Christmas day
nor even a moment; they can all fleet away.

We sing the carols of Christmas now
with hearts of joy, and lifted brow.
But, of whom we sing, some don't consider
Had He not come, there'd be no hope for sinners.

Yes, Jesus was the first Christmas gift
from the Father's throne, He was sent.
My Christmas Prayer for you today, is:
Don't let the hours of Christmas pass away.

For those who know Jesus, of whom I speak, please join me in prayer,
for those who do not yet know Him.  Blessings, Trisha

Christmas Should be about Christ

Christmas Nativity
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  I love putting the Nativity out, more than anything else.

It just brings me back to remembrance to what Christmas is all about, it's about Christ.

I am usually right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of Christmas, but, this year for the first time, I've slowed down and am enjoying just taking everything in stride.

What's the rush anyway?  Christmas will come and go before we know it, just like all the Christmas's past.

Hope you are not so hurried this year; it's nice to take time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.
A neighbor just told my husband, he hated Christmas, and then he said, " no I don't hate Christmas, it's just the money you have to spend.  He said he spent $1200.00 yesterday.

Christmas shouldn't be about presents, or the money we spend;  it should be about Christ.

I recall reading that one Christmas, Michael Landon and his family did an all homemade Christmas.  If they didn't make, it they didn't give it.  I thought what wonderful memories that left his family with, after he was gone.

This year, at our daughter's request, we are planning an 'Old Fashioned Christmas,' stringing popcorn for the tree, making popcorn balls, and taffy.  Now, I haven't made taffy since she was a little girl, so that might be a hoot!  However it turns out, it will be fine.  We'll have a good time, anyway.

Hope you have a Blessed Christmas Season, wherever you are.

Trisha
