Blessed Sunrise

Blessed Sunrise
This is what I saw this morning,
when I looked out my kitchen window.
I could only say, "Yes Lord."

The chorus of this song came to me:

"Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven's table land.
 A higher plane than I have found;
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground."

Oh what a Blessed morning, this is.
Hope you have a Blessed day where you are.

Isaiah 55: 1,2,&3

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters,
and he that hath no money; come ye, buy,
yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread?
and your labour for that which satisfieth not?
hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good,
and let your soul delight itself in fatness
Incline your ear, and come unto me:
  hear, and your soul shall live;
and I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
even the sure mercies of David.
Isaiah 55: 1,2,&3
I love this verse; it is one of my favorites.

I often post about the goodness of God, and how He gives us the desires of our hearts.

Psalm 37:4 says this:
Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Now you be the judge, how unlikely is this to have happened?
Victoria magazine has long been one of my favorite magazines,
and I subscribed to it for many years, until I had little time to read it anymore.
I read an article, many years ago about charm strings.
I love antiques, and collect old buttons, but, had never read about the century old tradition of collecting buttons and sewing them into a charm string, with tradition having it that the giver of the thousandth button, would be the one the maker of the charm string would marry.
In June of 1993, Victoria magazine carried an article about charm strings.
I really liked this article and let others read it.  With sharing it, I ended up not getting my magazine back, not even remembering, who I had last let read it.
I am not one to keep a lot of magazines,
but, this is one I would have liked to have kept.
I have looked for this particular magazine, for 18 years and had given up on ever finding it.
Until a couple of days ago, my friend who had had a yard sale, and had lots of glass left, called to see if I might be interested in buying what she had left.  I bought what she wanted to sell, brought it home, unpacked the glass, put it on shelves and tossed the stack of old magazines, with the exception of a Victoria magazine, that had caught my eye.
Today, I had a few extra minutes to read and picked up the magazine, just skimming through the pages, I almost squealed with delight when I came across the article about charm strings.  You might think, so what is the big deal.  I actually ran across, what was probably and old charm string about 20 years ago at a yard sale, but, didn't realize what it was, and didn't buy it.  I remember picking it up and saying to the person with me, 'Look how sweet, some little old lady has sewn her buttons together.'  Authentic charm strings bring a pretty steep price.
Some in 1993 were going for several thousand dollars.
I love collecting things that have a great story behind them.
Now, back to the point of this post.  After 18 years, and having given up on finding the copy of Victoria that had the article about charm strings, it shows up, and Blesses my heart, and makes me smile.  My friend did not know that I had been looking for this magazine, and still does not know.  You might think it is only a coincidence, that maybe she was the last one to read my original magazine in 1993, but, I didn't even know her then.  I only met her a few years ago.

Friend, every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of Lights.
 Oh, praise Him!
Have a Blessed day, wherever you are.

Front Porch Flowers

Colorful Sunflowers

I love to brighten our front porch with seasonal flowers from our garden.  I picked these bright Sunflowers today, and arranged them in a simple green floral bowl.  They compliment the bright sunny days, we've been having, and make me smile.
Hope you are having bright sunny days, wherever you are.  And may God's love shine, upon your lives.

Blessings,
Trisha

Somewhere a Bird

While swinging in our backyard park today, I  listened to chirping songbirds above my head.
Such a beautiful late Summer day, with high clouds and a light breeze.
Finch
Birds flitted through the drying leaves and sang sweet melodies.
Many went on their way, soon after they came,
but, this one stayed for a little while,
and I was able to take it's picture.
If not for the chirping and singing, I might never have seen the birds, at all,
it seems they were almost hidden, among the drying leaves on the tree.

Turkey Vulture
Here in Kentucky we just call these birds, 'Buzzards.'
This one landed on a gate post near our home the other day.
Two of them landed at the same time, one on each gate post,
and sat at a stance, by the time I got my camera,
one of them had flown away.
I thought that it may have been a mating ritual,
but, I read that was how they warm their bodies after a rain.
I read something else, too, that I didn't know.
They don't have vocal cords like other birds.
They can't sing or call, they can only hiss or grunt.
No beautiful songs like that of the Finch,
yet, they play such a large part in our eco-system,
keeping down disease; feeding mainly on carrion.

When God made our world, He designed it just right.  Praise His Name.
Blessings to you, wherever you are.

Night Falls on My Old Kentucky Home

Night falls on my old Kentucky home.
Shades of pink and purple stretch across the horizon,
the sound of katydid and crickets are interupted
by honking geese.
Children are laughing in the nearby churchyard,
reminding me that life goes on.
Somewhere in the world tonight, people are fighting,
some are cheating, some lying;
but, here in our backyard, all is well,
and God is still the God of our lives.
We talk about the sky, being the same sky over all the earth,
the sun, the moon, and stars, as well.
We all breathe the same air.  We are all in this together.
So why do some want to hurt one another?
It won't always be like that.
One day peace, love, and Holiness will reign.
Until then we pray for God's Blessings upon you.

Thurman's Vision of What's to Come

I often write about the Godly people I've known, and sometimes the visions they've had.  This is one I haven't written about until now.  The Godly man in the picture below is Thurman Keith, Thurman was a devout Christian and sang in the gospel singing group, 'The Keith Family,' until his death in 2009.  We went to church with Thurman in McCreary County, Kentucky for many years.
One night at church, Thurman stood to give a testimony, and began to tell the vision he had had, the church was not interested in hearing the vision and just passed him off.  My husband and myself, felt the Holy Spirit so strong when Thurman was testifying, we just had to hear the vision ourselves.  So when we got home we called him and asked him if he could come to church a little early the next church service and tell us the vision.  He was happy to.  He said he had been praying that God would help him understand why the tsunami of Dec. 26, 2004 came.  Then on the morning of April 7th., 2005, he had just finished his morning coffee, and was sitting in his chair, when he had this vision:
He said he was carried away by an angel and told he was being shown these things because he'd asked for wisdom about the tsunami.  He said the angel showed him that the tsunami and earthquakes would be the beginning of the end.  But, said that God didn't cause the tsunami.  He said the angel told him we were in the 1st. of 3 stages leading to the Mark of the Beast.  He said, America's factories would close the doors because of high health care and taxes.  He said the farmers would shut down.  He said people would starve to death and there would be great famines, worldwide.  He saw people in great lines for food, except in the country that takes over.  He said the angel showed him piles of dead bodies, so many that the funeral homes couldn't bury them, so they took heavy equipment and pushed them into big holes and burried them that way.
He said the angel showed him piles of money in the vaults in banks, that was worthless.  He said the American government would go broke, and be writing IOU'S. He said they would call in the old age pension (Social Security Checks) to try to have money in the treasury.  He said the presidency would be limited to a 6 month term.  He said it would be a time of high prices, dark times, industries gone, tornados, and storms.  He said the people on ventilators in hospitals and nursing homes would be ordered unplugged by the dictator that takes over.  He said the angel showed him a door that was closed and told him you're about to open the door that will lead to the Mark of the Beast.  He said college tuition would be so high that kids would drop out, and the ones with educations would try to run things, but, not do a very good job of it.
Thurman Keith 3/3/43 - 5/29/09

Then he said, the angel brought him back to a place where there was preaching and shouting when the Lord comes back.  He said he was shown to be prepared with the Holy Spirit to be able to stand in these terrible times.
When Thurman had this vision, his wife, and daughters thought he was having a heart attack.  They waved their hands in front of his face and he sat in a trance and never responded for quite some time.

This is the original paper I wrote Thurman's vision on in 2005

Crying Out from the Altar

Revelation 6: 9-10-11 says:

And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

We visited a local church this morning, one that we visit from time to time, and I was amazed at how some of our local country churches are getting away from using the Altar.

When the call for Altar Prayer went out, only around six people out of the entire congregation went to the Altar to pray.

If Christians won't use the Altar, how can we expect non-Christians to use it?

After we got home, I was sitting here reflecting on Revelation ch. 6: 9, 10, and 11,
and this thought came to me:

If we never bowed a knee and prayed to the Lord at an Altar here on earth,
would our prayers be among those cried out from the Altar in Heaven.

It's not for me to say.  But, praying at the Altar is a sacrifice of praise.
I remember well how the Altars in country churches were filled with people crying out to God.
I remember well how the Holy Spirit came down and filled the house.
I know first hand that this is pleasing to God.
So how did so many get away from Altar Prayer?
So many churches are loosing power with God.
Some are drying up like chaff.
Let us never be ashamed to bow our knee at an Altar of Prayer.
We live in uncertain times, we need God now more than ever,
my prayer is that we all call upon the name of Jesus Christ for strength to endure.
Blessings, Trisha
