Bible Verses that Speak Volumes

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them.

While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:

In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,

   And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;

Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail:  because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:

Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was:  and the spirit shall return to God who gave it.
                                                                                                                    Ecclesiastes 12:1-7

These verses teach us that we should do what we can for the Lord, while we are young, and still able to do it?

For we know if we live to an old age; we might not be able to do the things we could have done, when we were younger.

Let's give God what is right, not what is left.  Blessings,

Tuesday's Treasure Hunt

Coal Oil Lamps &  Costume Jewelry

Tuesdays are not my usual treasure hunting days.  I usually go on the weekends.  But, because of traffic from a nearby stock sale, one of the local flea markets, sets up on Tuesdays.
I love old costume jewelry, and found some nice pieces.  What I didn't expect to find were two coal oil lamps.  I really like the pretty gold color.

Earrings, Pearls, & Collar Clips
Tuesday turned out to be a good day at the flea market, I might try it again, sometime.
Hope you have a good day wherever you are.  Blessings,  Trisha

Thanking God for His Blessings

We thank God for His Blessings, and thank you for your prayers.
Our daughter didn't have to have surgery.  She will, however,
need to follow up with her doctor tomorrow, to try to find the
reason for her symptoms.  God is good, and we praise Him!

The Prayer of a Righteous Man .......

James 5:16 says:

Confess your faults one to another,
and pray one for another,
 that ye may be healed.
The effectual fervent prayer of a
righteous man availeth much.

Please remember our daughter in prayer.
She recently had surgery and is having complications.
The surgeon thinks he may have to operate again.
I know that God answers prayers.
Please remember her in your prayers.
And thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Have a Blessed day,
Trisha

Sunday Drive at it's Best

Driving Miles through the Mountains

View from our Windshield

A warm sunny Sabbath, a beautiful mountain drive, and a little Mountain Church.  What more could anyone ask for?

One High Mountain after Another

Ryan's Creek Baptist Church

And this is where we ended up, at Ryan's Creek Baptist Church in the Southern end of Whitley County.
We had a good worship service, and thank God for little mountain churches.

What's the Matter, Cat got Your Tongue?

There is an old saying around here, when someone is at loss for words,
What's the matter; cat got your tongue?
Not the case for me lately, we've just been so busy, I haven't had much time to post.
With gardening, flowers, outdoor projects, cutting firewood for the Winter,
housework, wheeee, one does get tired.
And there always seems to be another yard sale just around the corner,
waiting for me to stop by.
I really do love Summer, though; with the birds feeding their young,
lightening bugs lighting up the evening sky,
the courting call of Whippoorwills, and the Bullfrogs bellowing in the pond.
Maybe I'm not so busy afterall, since I do find time to sit outside in the evenings,
and enjoy all this.
Hope God Blesses you with beautiful Summer evenings,
and time to enjoy them,
 wherever you are.

400 Mile Yard Sale Finds of 2011

Lots of Pretty Tea Cups

Gold glass
Just a few of the things we found on our trip.   We went on the 400 mile yard sale trip on Saturday.  It was a beautiful day, and we were Blessed to get to spend the day with our daughter.  We bought way too much as usual.  When we got home, I unloaded most of the glassware into my garden cart in the garage, until I can find somewhere to put it.  We met some of the nicest people and found some great buys.     We found some pink depression glass bowls that are not shown, and so many beautiful pieces; I was like a kid in a candy store.

Vintage Jewelry Find

I found some pretty vintage jewelry, an old standing, thread spool caddy, some nice clocks, and many other things.  We bought so many things that we had to have our son-in-law bring another vehicle and switch with us, because we were loaded so heavy.  Our daughter found lots of things to use for the ladies day celebrations, and children's programs at her church.
God Blessed us with time together, great finds, and beautiful weather; and we thank Him.  Blessings to you, wherever you are.

400 Mile Yard Sale, out Hwy. 68

Doesn't seem to matter if we have room for anything else or not, when it comes to the big sales; they're really hard to pass up.  So, we hope to head out early in the morning on our treasure hunt up Hwy.  68 through Kentucky.
The sales start in Western Kentucky, and goes Northward to Maysville.  We find lots of vintage items, and antiques, on this sale, every year.
We especially like one very old Antique Shoppe in Old Washington;  it is ran by a really nice elderly man.  Most of the Shops in Old Washington will be participating in the 68 Yard Sale event.
Whether we find treasures or not, just spending the day with our daughter, and doing something we love, will be Blessing enough.
Have a Blessed day wherever you are.
