A Beautiful Sunday Sabbath

Sunday Evening Sunset
   It's been beautiful Sunday Sabbath.

Service at the old country church.

A visit with an old friend.

An evening walk around the lake.

God's Blessings surround us everyday.

The leaves were a spectical of color,
though it was too dark
for the colors to show in the picture.

The evening air was clear and brisk, but soft rays of sunshine
warmed our bodies, as we stood in awe of God's beauty.

I am reminded of the following verses:

But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard,

neither have entered into the heart of man,

the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

But God hath revealed them to us by the Spirit:

for the Spirit searcheth all things,

yea, the deep things of God.

1st.  Corinthians 2: 9-10

Old Fashioned Days at Church

Ryans Creek Baptist Church Established 1884
We attended Old Fashioned Days at Ryans Creek Baptist Church today.  It was a beautiful Autumn day, and the mountains seemed to sing with God's glory.  The singers sang with joyous hearts, and the preacher peached with all his heart.  The food was spread like a banquet for a king, the fellowship as sweet as the Autumn breeze.  How I wish everyone could attend an Old Country Church, and feel God's Spirit deep in their soul.  Blessings, Trisha

Why Labor Ye for the Meat that Perisheth?

Worldly Things Pass Away

I awoke this morning with this verse on my mind:
Labor not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you:  for him hath God the Father sealed.
                     John Ch. 6 v. 27

Then 1st. John Ch. 2 v. 15, 16, 17 says:

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.  If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof:  but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

I couldn't help but think how most of us are guilty of seeking the world's goods.
Sometimes without even realizing it.

We have lost several friends lately, and as I reflect on their lives,
I can see that those who had little, and those who had much,
 equally enjoyed their lives.

Yesterday we had a visit from and elderly friend, who had just lost her husband.

God has blessed these friends with much land and finances.

Our friend talked a little about selling one of their farms;
but the farm she was talking about is the one that their son loves to hunt on.

And I thought this.  If you don't need the money,
why trade the farm for paper, or numbers that will be calculated into a bank account.
The son who is an avid hunter, would be better served getting to hunt the farm,
rather than have more numbers added to a bank account.

Why do we labor for the meat that perisheth?

The Lord told us not to.

We need to set our sites on things eternal.

The friends we recently lost, took no worldly goods with them,
but those who had made their election and calling sure,
their works did follow them.

Blessings, Trisha

Another Season, Another Chance

Fall Marigolds
Another season, is here,
another chance to do the will of God.
Time passes so swiftly, seems like we blink,
and a day, then a season is gone.
So many I know are waiting
 for a more convenient season,
to accept the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Many, I've known for years are letting seasons
come and go, without coming to the Lord.
Some even say, " I'm gonna live a little,
and when I get old, I'll come to him."
What a foolish thing to say,
the Bible says, that God's Spirit shall not always strive with man.
Fall Wreath, Our Daughter Made Us

It is not God's will that any should perish.
Salvation, and the blessings of God
are for all who will come to him.

Please don't let another season pass,
without coming to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Please help me pray for those
who are letting the seasons pass.

Blessings,   Trisha
