Bible Verses that Speak Volumes

   Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them.

   While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:

   In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,

   And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;

   Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail:  because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:

   Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.

   Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was:  and the spirit shall return to God who gave it.
                                                                                                                    Ecclesiastes 12:1-7

These verses teach us that we should do what we can for the Lord, while we are young, and still able to do it?

For we know if we live to an old age; we might not be able to do the things we could have done, when we were younger.

Let's give God what is right, not what is left.  Blessings,

  1. That is a great one Trisha. If only I could have known as a young woman what I know now. I guess that is why scripture is true when it says in the book of Titus, "teach older women to be reverent in the way they live,......then they can teach the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the Word of God". We older gals have to make sure we are being godly examples to the younger. I appreciate your challenging posts especially when you are always pointing toward the truth! Blessings!

  3. Enjoyed your verses.

    And, thanks for stopping by my blog. I, too, don't have much room for a spinning wheel. I finally found an Ashford Joy (used)and love it because it is small and folds up flat. It doesn't take up much space at all. While at the Black Sheep Gathering I saw wheels that were a lot smaller than mine too. I think in one picture on my blog one is shown. If you know someone handy with woodworking you could have one made for you as well. A drop spindle is great too. I haven't tried one of those yet. It is a little easier because you take the treadling out of the learning process. Have a great and blessed day.
